Hey, you.
Here’s your invitation to a celebrate.
Finally book that trip you’ve day-dreamed about? Let’s celebrate. Land that promotion? Grab some champagne. Make it through the grocery store without your toddler taking out an entire display of mac and cheese (#TrueStory)? A win is a win, momma!
Whatever you’ve chalked up as your happy for today, we believe in celebrating it – and we’ve carved out this little corner of the internet to make that process easier with inspiration, encouragement, and insight.
A bit of background about me: I am an award winning journalist turned PR pro with a passion for all things travel, carbs, and entertaining. I cuss like someone who’s spent way too much time in a newsroom (sorry, mom), and I’m constantly battling my love of pretty things with the desire to create a substance-filled life.
I get to call the world’s best and loudest family mine, and I am married to the most loving, supportive man. Truly. Take every cheesy, cliched, gag-me-with-a-spoon love phrase out there – he embodies it. In November 2017 we welcomed our sweet, personality-packed baby girl into the world and things are forever wonderfully changed.
Which brings us here, to the heart of this space.
My years spent in a newsroom followed by those at a large PR agency gave me a front row seat to some of the backhandedness of this world. In one situation I was reporting on it. In the other, I was immersed in it.
Y’all. It’s messy.
And when I kept circling back to the idea of a blog, I had to really think about it’s purpose. I knew what content I wanted to focus on, because I know the elements that bring a little happy to my day-to-day, but I wanted to make sure there was a sense of camaraderie in there, too.
And that’s when I stumbled upon a quote that’s the root of this entire space. I don’t know who originally spoke it, but it’s resonated with me on a whole bunch of levels:
Never be afraid to share your story. Never hold back on telling your experiences – because there might be someone out there at the beginning of the journey you just walked and if you can offer the tiniest bit of insight or shared experience, it might make all the difference to them.
I’m not an expert on all the things we chat about here, but I do believe that there’s value in sharing an experience in the hope that it makes someone else’s life a little bit better. So here it is. Another place where women can swap tips and tricks that makes life a bit easier and a little bit more fun. A place that doesn’t shame the fact that sometimes we need to create reasons for celebration.
And I truly believe that “celebrate well” is a concept God has placed on my heart. Yes, the world can be rough. But there’s warmth in it. There is genuine good. There’s reason to celebrate.
In fact, there are a million and one reasons to celebrate – both major milestones and daily wins – and in this little corner of the internet, we whole heartedly choose to embrace both.
xoxo
